The KA-TE shuttering injection system is a patented method for carrying out durable, friction-free repairs to lateral connections. The method was and still is one of the decisive innovations in the field of robotic repair systems.
The KA-TE shuttering injection system consists of a plastic shuttering that is positioned at the lateral opening and a mould in the form balloon that is inserted into the defective lateral pipe through an opening in the plastic shuttering. An injection tool presses resin into the cavity around the balloon through two holes. The shuttering can be detached from the robot and remain in place until the resin has fully cured.
The specific shape of the shuttering guarantees a smooth transition between the repair and the pipe walls in the lateral pipe and main sewer. This improves the sewer’s hydraulic performance. Reliability and durability are guaranteed even when the sewer is subject to frequent and intensive cleaning. This has been confirmed by cleaning tests.
A supplementary module is attached to the filler robot to enable the use of the KA-TE shuttering system.
THE KA-TE METHOD: BEST METHOD ON THE MARKET
The KA-TE method of partial repair to wastewater sewers is demonstrably one of the best on the market. In the product tests “Repair Methods for Lateral Connections”, “Repair Methods for Main Sewers” and “Lateral Connection Rehabilitation in Infiltration Water Areas” held by the renowned, independent IKT institute, Gelsenkirchen, rehabilitation companies working with the KA-TE method emerged as the best in test in the majority of cases. The long-term resistance of the KA-TE method against high-pressure cleaning (jetting) was confirmed by independent pipeline construction institute IRO Oldenburg during tests carried out on the basis of German standard DIN 19523.
